Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Often when we have had too much and feel overwhelmed, we shut people out, including God. We can sometimes put up a barrier to the very things that help us. When we are focused on joy - finding the joy in everyday things, we may find that God opens up doors that we never thought possible. Now, some days our rejoicing may be limited to a hot cup of coffee because everything else seemingly went wrong that day, but I guarantee you there is something to be thankful for and even rejoice for. One of the best practices for changing your mindset is finding 3 things each day to be grateful for. We see what we are looking for. This week, try it. Look for the good and thank God for it. You may find yourself rejoicing.
