'So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.'
1 Peter 5:6-7 NLT

Worry is a drag.  So many times we carry the weight of the world on our shoulders.  God does not want us to carry this load and He will take it if we ask Him to.  He is a gentleman, so He won’t just jump in. He wants to be invited to be a part of our lives.  The invitation to God in “saying “I can’t do this” is the humbling of ourselves… also known as surrender. Our Lord will carry us and give us peace if we ASK Him to, but He will not force it.  Today, give the burden to God. Don’t try to fix it or plan it (this is very hard for me to do, but I’m still trying) and then let HIM do the work. What are some ways you give it to God? How hard is it for you to do so?

This reminded me of the picture of the single footprints in the sand. Reminding us that that we don't realize that God is there always carrying us through all our tribulations. It seems like that's how my life has gone, God lifting me up from one episode to the next. I know that He's there if I will ask for His Superior help. Its not that we forget we can ask, but that we want to try and do it on our own.

Yes! The footprints in the sand poem is a great illustration of this. Incidentally, it was one of my mother's favorites, so it holds a special place in my heart.
Thank you for the reminder!
