Tuesday
These days we need people who are Peacemakers.  People who exemplify and actively “do” peaceful things.  When one “makes” something, they are creating, which is a verb.  It is not something that is necessarily quiet, but impactful.  Greek language for peacemaker comes from two words:

Eirene: peace
Poieo: to do, make, bring forth, commit, cause, work, deal, perform

When we are following Jesus’ directive to “make peace”, we are to be doing things. Often that means making the world a better place by taking the high road, but it NEVER means that we let others harm or take advantage of us or others in the name of Peace.  For those of us who hate conflict and confrontation, this can be a challenge.

One of the best tools I’ve come across in this process is learning and employing good boundaries. In this, one learns that they cannot take advantage of another because they have to respect that person.  Often when boundaries are done well, they look very much like Christ.  He knew when to “shake the dust off the sandals” and move on.

These days, we often see two reactions to conflict: full-on fighting or passivity.  Let us remember that God wants us to make peace with others.  It will make all the difference. - Meghan
