“You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.

Boy is this the truth today. And I'm just referring to the first two lines. "You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor.". We are all so complacent about our relationship to God. We only thank Him when its a special day or special event. We only pray to Him when we are in dire need or in extreme pain. What about times like now, with our country being in such a mess , How many of us take the time to thank God for giving us all the riches we abound with. We forget to ask for Him to give guidance to those who run our country. To give us guidance on what we can do to help the situation. We forget to help, and pray for, and LOVE everyone around us. We forget to show respect, curtacy, a smile, support, and many other things. We forget to be humble and patient and understanding. We forget to laugh or how to laugh and to help others laugh. We forget to lead others to God. we forget to listen and be there for others. We are the salt of the earth, each and every one of us and with His help we can put the taste of life and love back on everyone's lips.
