On October 8, 1871, Mrs. O’Leary’s cow kicked a lantern and, in effect, caused the Great Chicago Fire. It left 300 people dead, thousands of people without homes and caused tens of millions of dollars in damage.
What we think of as a small thing can have impact. Keep in mind that the things we say and do that are negative can cause a cascade of terrible events that we would never have intended. Likewise, please also remember that the good you do can do the same. Choose wisely and be mindful of what kind of impact you have in the world. Use it for good today!
