But the moment one turns to the Lord with an open heart, the veil is lifted and they see.
2 Corinthians 3:16

I talk a lot about dealing with one’s past and the things that are holding people back from living in all God has. God has promised that even through our pain, if we give it to HIM, He will make all things
NEW.

We are fearful of dealing with our past trauma, our insecurities and our faults because it’s painful, but God wants us to allow Him to pull the veil back so we can see what is happening and what is hindering us.

Remember in the Wizard of Oz, when the Great and Powerful Oz was speaking to Dorothy and her friends? He was a formidable leader and it caused great fear in them to make their requests known.  During the time of the interaction, the Great and Powerful Oz  was revealed to be the man behind the curtain. He was so scary...until he was not.

I think in many ways, this is what is meant in this passage.  If we ask God to make us new by revealing what we have not yet seen, He will do so and it will be beautiful. It may be a bit scary, but it is so worth it!

If you recall, once the scary man behind the curtain was revealed, Dorothy was able to make her way back home where she was loved and cared for; isn’t that what we all want….to feel like we are safe and secure?
