Daily Devotion Thursday June 24

Thursday 

Has your family put the “fun” in dysfunction?  Do you feel like it may not measure up to God’s plan for the family? In honor of this past week being Father’s Day, I’d like to share a few families that did not fit the bill for fully healthy, and yet God used them. He can use our families too!  All week we will talk about the families that just didn’t cut it...just like us. 

Now we come to the family of Joseph….Jacob’s family. Joseph was a ‘daddy’s boy’ and his brothers did not like him one bit.  They plotted to get rid of him and threw him into a well and then proceeded to sell him so he was out of their hair.  This came to pass and years later they met up again and Joseph was in an amazing leadership position and saved them.  

I’m sharing this because sometimes we are really hard on ourselves and our families. We think we should have it more together than we do...and maybe we should, but we are not alone.  God loves us anyway and as long as we are moving toward Him and trying to honor Him, we are in a good spot.
