One of my favorite verses is 1 Corinthians 10:5:

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
This verse reminds me that when I get anxious or spend too much time worrying I am literally not obeying Christ. He told us in

https://my.bible.com/bible/1849/MAT.6.34.TPT “Refuse to worry about tomorrow, but deal with each challenge that comes your way, one day at a time. Tomorrow will take care of itself.”

I can get lost in the “what-ifs” and plotting and planning that I lose sight of the fact that God is in control. I have even caught myself saying in my prayer-time “now, God, if this person does this, then that gives YOU the ability to do that”....What a laugh!  God can move mountains and He sure does not need me to tell Him how to do that!
1 Corinthians 10:5 illuminates the fact that sometimes we need to examine our thoughts slowly and make sure they align with the truth that God has given us.  When we do this, the Holy Spirit does a pretty amazing thing:  intervenes and gives this peace that we cannot even explain.

So…when you find yourself lost in a spiral of worry and concern, take that thought and examine it…remind yourself who is in charge….and pray.
